dolce & gabbana [baroque] inspiration.

Who hasn't seen this September Elle cover and made note of how
drop dead gorgeous Rosie Hintington-Whiteley looks?  What a be-a-uty!
But, along with the envious admiration, one must ask themselves how this
sweater hot pant ensamble translates to real life.
Let's explore some options.

silk scarf style.

My purpose for blogging about this today is because I recently decided to put my hot head extensions back in.  Giving me amazing, beautiful & thick hair.  They look flawless 99% of the time, but the downside is that you can see the tape from the pieces if I wear my hair in a high pony tail.  So it's a hair style with purpose for me.  I'll spare you a picture, it's really not THAT bad, but no one wants to be the girl who has tracks you can see.

I've rounded up some great pics of inspirational ladies who are rocking the head scarves.

finds from forever.

Came across this stunning necklace at Forever 21 this afternoon.

I have an affinity for crystal necklaces and this one is fantastic!
It looks like it's much more expensive then it actually is.
Now I have like 17 sparkly necklaces.

$12.80

more is more. ring overload.

It's so hot that jewelry is pretty much obsolete (at least for me) for the summer.
Loading on my rings is the last thing that's on my mind.  So here's a photo montage to pay respect to my ring collection... i'll see you in the fall.

to all the fair beauties...

Whether you're ready for it or not... the weather is a changin'.
Last weekend the thermometer peaked at eighty degrees, but I wasn't quite ready to expose my blindingly pale legs to the world.  After a week or so of warmer temperatures... I no longer care.  Here are some inspirational pics to get you in the mood to bare it all.

1. Emma Stone
2. Kirsten Dunst
3. Amanda Seyfried
4. Kristen Stewart
5. Michelle Trachtenberg
6. Anne Hathaway
7. Abbey Lee Kershaw

diy. painted pearls.

My roommate gave me these giant vintage Chanel pearl clip on earrings
for my birthday but they needed a face lift. [per her suggestion]

All you do is take a nail polish color of your choice [mine was forever 21 :: pink]
and carefully paint over the center pearl.  I did about 3 coats.  You can sort of still see
the original pearl around the edges, but nothing that anyone else will ever notice.

If you don't have Chanel earrings,
just grap something that needs an update
& slather some nail polish on it.
Have fun!

some like it hot pink. splurge vs. steal.

When I found out Brad Goreski was hired as the exclusive brand designer for Kate Spade, everything suddenly made sense!  I hadn't really questioned it prior to, but I had been noticing myself wandering through their website, taking special notice of their brightly colored handbags and piped trench coats. When I would pass by their Broome Street store, I suddenly had the urge to go in.  I was into it. I had become a fan!  And then I found out why.  Brad is fantastic, he's a great stylist, an entertaining tv personality AND obviously kicked up Kate Spade's cred a few notches in a lot of ladies books.

But at the end of the day,
it's not likely that I'm spending $400
on a hot pink hand bag,
so I decided to scope out the options.

Brad's style tips are scattered
throughout their website.

Oddly it's not listed on their website [only Zappos],
but I just bought mine in SoHo last Friday & it's awesome.

MCENROE in neon green <3 rad.
Both colors are available from ASOS
for $64.46 which is even more random.

And the cognac color is currently on sale through Aldo.com
for $29.48.  Even though the graphic shows neon green,
it's the brown color 'cognac' that's actually available and on sale.
Don't be fooled. The only colors available from Aldo.com are brown and black.
Boring!

And lastly, here is another version by McQ
that reaches far, far out of the boundaries of my price range.

armored collar.

Decided to post this shirt & necklace combo
because people are always curious about where the pieces are from!

Metallic collar top from H&M - about 2 weeks ago for under $30.
Can't find it online for the life of me but it should still be available in stores.
Bib Necklace available at Forever 21.

The shirt itself is very sheer, so you you'll need a black camisole,
unless you don't mind a little see-through action. :)

$9.80 Spiked Bib Necklace from Forever 21
This necklace really looks much more expensive,
people are always in disbelief when I tell them it's from Forever 21.
