I picked this look because I like a lot of volume around my face, but

also wanted to stay on trend with the messy look.  Adding a jeweled pin

dressed it up perfectly. (pin purchased from accessorize)

It's especially great if you have an annoying cowlick.  I'm constantly fighting 

with my hair.  As the day/night wore on my style dropped a little,

probably because it was 105°, but overall it stayed put.

1. biking around on this...

I LOVE biking around NYCity on this.  I always knew I wanted a bike, but I never could have imagined how much it would change the way I view the city in the summer.  I hate the heat, but having a bike makes it so much more bearable.  Truly amazing. 

If you don't have a bike, get one asap!

The McCarren park public pool is finally open! 

This has immediately become my favorite go-to, weekday spot to cool off.

I wouldn't dare go on a weekend, way too overwhelming, 

but I will happily bike my butt over the Williamsburg Bridge during the week. 

Pool capacity 1,500 people. Wowza!

Hope everyone had a fantastic holiday! I'm currently traveling to Ohio so I wasn't able to get all patriotic today.  Instead I spent the afternoon eating lobster rolls and biking around the Pocono's & my evening watching a ragtime orchestra "america's original music" in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.  No fireworks this year, but I stashed some sparklers in my purse for a rainy day.  Anyway, here are some hot ladies who love America & some tasty snacks.

I DID manage to eat this cupcake today. All that frosting really says "i love america".
